The Gretsch G6199B Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass was born out of a collaboration of Bo Diddley and Billy Gibbons. The G6199B Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass is an over-the-top real eye catcher bass, with its space age out of this world looks and Firebird Red top, however it has an amazingly versatile tonal range varying from real down dirty to mellow as a Sunday morning. The sound on the “Billy-Bo” Jupiter Thunderbird is produced via two of the TV Jones Thunder’Tron S/S pickups, and the hardware consists of a chrome Space Control bridge with Sperzel tuners, all in all an extremely interesting bass this one.
