It starts with the heart of a Minimoog Model D. Fat oscillators and warm Moog filters give it that unmistakable Moog sound and the rugged construction and intuitive user interface design immediately tells you that you are playing a high-quality musical instrument.

Moog MiniMoog XL inherits a 100% analog signal path with stable oscillators, patch storage, touch surface, pot mapping and extensive MIDI control functionality. To all this, add a ribbon controller and 61 note keyboard and you have a monster analog monosynth built on a 40 year legacy of sonic exploration. Voyager XL features extensive front-panel patchability that harkens back to the original groundbreaking Moog modular synthesizers. The addition of a 4-channel CV mixer, 2-channel attenuator, lag processor and MIDI-synced LFO make this a sound design and analog control dream machine.

Moog have cleverly designed in a few hooks that provide the Voyager flexibility in routing external CVs to controls that don't have a dedicated CV input. This can allow external Control Voltages to control things like Filter Spacing. The MOD1 and MOD2 inputs accept 0 to +5V control inputs. The MOD1 input is the controller for the Pedal/On Mod Buss, normal led to +5V. The MOD2 input is selectable as a Mod Source for both Mod Busses, normal led to +5V. Filter Spacing can be selected as a Programmable Modulation Destination in either Mod Bus. Thus you could route the MOD2 input to control Filter Spacing through the Mod Busses. Also, either MOD1 or MOD 2 inputs may be routed using the Voyager's POT MAPPING feature to control any of the front panel knobs, including Filter Spacing.
