The TC Electronic RebelHead 450 Front Panel Features:
- ‘Simplicity’ is always important to bass players and RebelHead is no exception. The front panel knobs
are the usual suspects: input gain, 4 tone controls and master level - every bass player can use this.
- Tuner – every player needs a tuner, but virtually no amp offers anything but ‘tuner out’, until now!Push
the ‘Mute’ button to get the full resolution tuner lightring – and yes there is a remote that displays the tuner in front rather than behind you.
- Spectra Comp™ – Most players knows that integrated compressors generally don’t sound good. A
regular comp will be controlled entirely by the lower string, while Spectra Comp allows virtually ‘per string’ compression evening out the compression across all strings.
- Presets – Most players don’t use presets today, but only because they never had the opportunity.
Playing 4 vs. 5 string bass, Rickenbacker vs. Fender Jazz, groove vs. solo sound, every player knows an example where a few presets would be very welcome. The “Car radio” style store & recall makes it easy for every player to operate. The RebelControl remote allows access to the 3 presets, Mute and full on tuner indication.
- Tube tone™ – Most transistor designs have tried to replicate the tube sound through one small pre-amp
tube. This of course does not accomplish the real tube sound, as the full preamp and poweramp section needs to be replicated in order to achieve the right sound – Tube tone™ does exactly that.
The TC Electronic RebelHead 450 Rear Panel Features:
- DI Output –Quality varies with built in DI’s. RebelHead is transformer balanced and galvanicly isolated
from the rest of the amp which secures no grounds loops and hum. It will draw at least 100m of cable with no drop in audio quality.
- Recording output – AES/EBU straight into the Protools or Logic setup. The recording out is SPDIF
compatible. The recording output is switchable from ‘pre’ to ‘post’ the preamp section.
- Rehearsal input – Bass is a pretty boring instrument on its own. Every player recognizes the need for
background music when practicing. Rehearsal input with the included ‘mini-jack to RCA’ cable allows connection of ipod, phone, computers or other MP3 players. The studio quality headphone amp features a speaker filter on the bass signal.
- Insert point + Speaker connector – pretty standard stuff. Remember that the Speakon connector doubles
as ¼” jack output as well.
- Auto sensing PSU – Our powersupply operates from 90 to 240 volt with no need for changing fuses or
anything. Great feature for the travelling musician.
- Active Power Management – The power level of RebelHead is accomplished by Class D technology in
combination with TCE’s Active Power Management™. APM™ secures that the amp behaves very much like a tube amp when getting close to maximum performance by optimizing the power impact contrary of most other class D and transistor amps hard clipping tendancies.
